It had been a long and miserable two weeks. Just ask anyone who had had the misfortune of dealing with their Queen. Karla was a terrible patient; somehow managing to be a tyrant even when she was coughing so hard she could barely speak. It was a good thing her nasty chest cold had also kept her asleep a great deal, or it was possible she would have been overthrown by her own Court.
Now, however, she was on the mend. Which, on the positive side, meant she was feeling almost human again--and behaving that way. On the negative side, it also meant she was bored out of her mind. Morton and Julian had finally made good their escape after their third straight hour of playing cradle, her lunch lay untouched because she was tired of soup and toast, and the next person who came in to make her take another foul-tasting brew was going to get kicked in the face.
There was clearly only one thing to do. Call people and whine about how bored she was. Also, check up on anyone who had gotten tangled up in the latest bout of Fandom crazy, but mostly the whining and bored thing
Let's see. Who to call first?
[Open for phone calls, visitors, and them what live here. If you think Karla would have called you, she did!]

Date: 2014-04-06 09:37 pm (UTC)She laughed outright. "Though now I'm picturing you in a corset and a kilt. Who needs tradition with an image like that, hmm?"

Date: 2014-04-06 11:54 pm (UTC)Her birthday according to the Glacian calendar had passed a little while ago, but she'd been pregnant and Warren and Raven evil for it, so there hadn't been much in the way of celebrations or presents.

Date: 2014-04-07 12:08 am (UTC)"Possibly." Karla considered the idea. "We were planning on doing something for when my birthday passed in Glacia, but Fandom was playing games again. I guess it thought I'd want a little bundle of joy for my birthday."
Which, among many other problems, meant no drinking. Fandom gifts were the worst!

"And yes, the island was being especially droll this spring. I got to be a vampire. Again."

Date: 2014-04-07 12:50 am (UTC)With Warren and Raven both evil and doing their worst to tear her--and Sidra--apart.
She'd be considering children when she was thirty-six and not a moment sooner, ugh. "Same vampire as before? Or a different one? And how weird is it that Fandom keeps track of things like that?"

Date: 2014-04-07 04:04 am (UTC)"Is it terrible for me to say that I'm pretty okay with that?" Karla asked. "I'm twenty-one. Now is not the time for me to be thinking about babies. It's barely even the time for me to be thinking about being able to buy booze from The Devil's Nest!"

Date: 2014-04-08 03:02 am (UTC)And there was the whole underlying issue of not wanting to make the same mistakes her parents did. But that was neither here nor there.
"Speaking of the Devil's Nest, I've just decided that's where I'm going to throw my birthday party."
A much better topic!

Date: 2014-04-08 07:07 pm (UTC)Because Karla was a terrible friend, that was why.
"So, yes, something raucous and extravagant. That sounds like fun, right? A good way to celebrate my very existence?"
