What a great way of distracting Leda from her distress as missing the big to-do.

"Yeah I did. Thank Gods I was home instead in the Palace. I'm not sure who would have been more freaked out. As it was my Grandmother managed to put me at my ease, and I wound up having a lot of fun."

Leda laughed. "Oh Gods I can only imagine." She remembered that Saetan and Leander looked a lot alike so she did her Leander imitation; "Oh Darkness I thought were done with all of this."

"Actually, he spent most of the time laughing," Karla said fondly. "He loves being a father and I think he enjoyed seeing us as little kids with no cares or worries, you know? Other than whether or not we could successfully hide from vegetables, bathtime, and bed, of course."

A decade's worth of spoiling in one weekend could NOT be healthy.

"Saetan was mostly content to watch, I think," Karla explained. "And laugh at Lucivar and Jaenelle chasing after us. There was a fair bit of smugness there, too."

"Hmmm...I think I might have detected similar attitudes in some of the Grandparents around here." Leander and Strider's mothers respectively reminded her sometimes of Bill Cosby's descriptions of his own parents.
