Alligator Cabin, Friday Night

Talking at the campfire today had been an unequivocal success. She'd managed to overcome her shyness long enough to talk to four people today--two of them males! Karla didn't think she'd ever spoken to that many people at once in...ever! Sure, not all of the conversations had been kind (or even sensical--Karla was pretty sure that Sookie and Alex had been playing some kind of practical joke), but the important thing was that they'd talked to her! And known her name and everything!

To celebrate, Karla had made a lot of moddable things for dinner. As usual, each item was lovingly cooked to delicious perfection. Hungry as she was, however, Karla wasn't going to eat right away. She would offer food to everyone else first and then see if there was any left for her.

Raven was bored. And frustrated. And still wearing pants.

"Hellooooo, Karla," she said, checking out her cabinmate.

"H-H-Hi, Raven," Karla said, ducking her head instinctively. She was much more used to having to dodge out of the way to avoid being trampled than actually greeted. "C-can I offer you something to eat?"

"You certainly may," Raven purred.

She wasn't thinking about food.

Karla put together a plate of food and brought it over to Raven. "Here," she said, quietly. "I h-hope you like it."

About then, the exhaustion (and lack of food) from yesterday caught up with her and Karla's knees buckled. "Whoa!" she said as she headed for the floor.

The only reason Raven spared a glance for Karla's fall was because she'd still been checking her out. "What is wrong?" she asked, imagining what she might like to do to Karla on the floor.

"I'm j-just r-r-really t-t-tired is all," Karla said, stutter growing worse due to the embarrassment of toppling over in front of Raven like that. And for having such a pathetic excuse. "I w-w-wore myself out yesterd-d-day and h-haven't eaten m-much today."

At least the room stopped spinning, anyway. What?

Raven rolled her eyes. "Walk it off," she said. Your pain, don't give it to her.

Karla hadn't expected anyone to care anyway, and so wasn't appalled by Raven's tone or her words. "I w-will," she said, slowly rising to her feet. "I d-didn't sp-sp-sp-spill anything on you, did I?"

"If you did," Raven said, giving Karla a wink, "how would you clean it up?"

"I w-w-would t-take your cl-clothes and w-w-wash them," Karla said, not understanding the wink. Sex was for making babies ONLY. "I c-c-could l-loan you my r-r-robe?"

"Would you do that?" Raven said, drawing closer to Karla. "Give me the clothes off your back...right here? Right now?"

"W-well, my r-r-robe's back in my alc-c-cove," Karla said lamely, stepping back a pace or two. She wasn't used to anyone being that close to her.

"Why are you moving away from me?" Raven said, following after her. "I like it when my friends are close. Close enough to touch." She lifted one hand to try to touch Karla's cheek.

Tim knocked on the cabin door. "Hey, Karla!"

My! Cooking was having an amazing effect one everyone today! They must all be really, really hungry.

Karla knew better than to think that it was her that was attracting the attention. So she responded to Tim's greeting with a small wave and the offer of a plate. "H-hi," she whispered, hiding behind a curtain of hair.

Tim completely failed to notice anything unusual. "Hey! I just wanted to say thanks for your help for class."

Help with class? When had Tim asked her for help with anything? Still, far be it for Karla to try to correct him. "Y-you're welcome?" she offered, trying to think of what she might have done. "W-was I useful?"

Really, that's all she aspired to.

"I couldn't have done it without you," Tim said. "Literally."

"R-really?" Karla asked, confused.

And getting curious enough to ask. Hopefully he wouldn't think her question was a disagreement. "H-how?"

"I used the massage oils for the class demonstration," Tim said. "Thanks for getting those from the sex shop for me."

Massage oils?

Sex shop?!?!?!

"Oh, n-n-n-n-no!" Karla gasped. "I w-w-w-wouldn't! Ever! N-n-not into a p-p-place like th-that."

"N-n-no! N-n-never! S-s-s-sssss..." She couldn't even say the word. "S-E-X is d-d-dirty."

Tim frowned. "Are you feeling okay?"

"I am f-fine," Karla stammered. "B-but I w-w-would n-n-never..."

She wasn't sure how to finish her argument without actually arguing with Tim. "More food?" she offered instead.
