The Estate, Sidra, Glacia, Thursday (Fandom Time)

Winsol had been going on now for several days. The family had just decamped from SaDiablo Hall in Dhemlan back home to Glacia to continue the festivities in their own home. There would be several more days of formal events, but this evening was just for family and close friends (specifically friends close enough to be family). The children were tumbling around like puppies, a mix of Earth and Kaeleeran carols were playing from floating music spheres scattered throughout the suite, fires crackled in the large hearths, and food and punch and hot spiced rum were piled high on the sideboards throughout. "Happy Winsol!" Karla said, holding up her cup in a toast.

"Happy Winsol!" the room chorused back to her.

"I didn't tell her anything!" Momoko's eyes widened. "We hadn't done anything yet!"

But Jaime's eyes were doing that wrinkly thing they did when he was thinking stupid things. What had she said...? Oh.

"Idiot." Her face relaxed and she wrapped her arms around him again. "I told her that we'd talked about it and that we were going to wait."

Jaime relaxed into her arms, returning the favor by pulling her closer. "Not forever," he promised softly. Just until they had some sort of financial stability.

Which she knew, since that was one of the points that she'd brought up when they'd talked about it.

"I'm not worried," she assured him. "It's our decision, anyway."

"But if the question bothers you, we can skip Mrs Wilson's. I can visit her on my own later." Momoko gave him a squeeze. "We'll just be truthful and say we want to take our time on a long drive and that maybe we'll stop partway."

"Oh, I like her. I'm just worried she doesn't like me sometimes."

"Since you 'helped Paco get out of that gang' and into college and you fixed her TV, you're all right. It totally helped that you were so upset and calling her all the time when I went missing." Momoko stifled a snicker. "Now, how she feels about Blue Beetle..."

"Not a fan?" Jaime asked with a little snicker.

"But how does she feel about Blossom?"

[heromaniac]

"Blue Beetle?" Momoko said, trying to sound as much like her ex-landlady and friend as she could. "Not sure about that one. Vanished as soon as he showed up. If he's our hero, he oughta stay here."

"She doesn't talk about Blossom." Her voice was normal again, if curious. "I don't know why. Has she to you?"

"Not to me," Jaime answered, shaking his head. "I mean, I know this'll be a surprise, but we don't hang out all that often."

"I meant back when I lived there, not now." Momoko rolled her eyes and gave a fond shake of her head.

"You totally should have. She's awesome. Did you know her husband was a police officer who captured supervillains? There was one who's thing was that he painted his crime and left it in an art gallery. Mr Wilson helped solve it by realizing one painting had the wrong colour weeds in it! That's how they met; Mrs Wilson was working in evidence processing at the time."
