Rome, Italy Thursday Evening Fandom Time

Even in Kaeleer, Karla made sure to keep a Fandom-based calendar handy, so she could keep track of things like friends' birthdays and things like that. A few days ago, she'd noted another anniversary was coming up, but not one as fun or exciting as a birthday.

Thursday, May 10th, was the day that Triela had died, last year. Funny how it felt like both more and less than that long. Funny how much it still hurt, an ache in her heart she doubted would ever go away.

After seeing that, Karla had made a few handwavy calls to people, friends of hers and Triela's that she thought might want to join her sojourn back to Italy. Unsurprisingly, several people had already made separate plans to do just that, but didn't mind combining those plans with hers. Karla couldn't speak for everyone, of course, but she was sure that very few people wanted to go back and remember their friend alone.

For once, Portalocity was willing to work with her, and she was able to set up several portals to meet in Rome for Thursday afternoon and a return set for late Thursday evening. Hopefully that would give everyone time to...do whatever they needed to do today.

"Raven! You came, too!" Momoko approached her, smiling. "How are you feeling? Can you use a hug?" Or would that be too much, was what Momoko wasn't asking.

Raven managed a smile as well. "A hug is always welcome," she said, holding out her arms. Especially right now.

Momoko's hug was tight and warm and full of positive emotions for Raven to have if she wanted. Because while this was a very emotional event for Momoko she had enough rituals and spiritual requirements and beliefs that she could hide all the worst parts of this trip. Triela, Momoko was sure, wanted her friends to be happy.

Raven appreciated the comfort. Even all the mourning she'd done on Azarath hadn't affected her as much as this. Triela had been a friend, while those of Azarath were merely acquaintances.

"How have you been?" she murmured. "I have not seen you in some time."

"Despite everything, I've been okay!" Momoko admitted softly. "Being so far from everyone totally sucks, though. You?"

"I have been all right," Raven said. "I am still attempting to decide what I will do with myself come fall, but for now I am splitting my time between Fandom and Kaeleer."

"You totally have time. But I understand. It's weird when suddenly have no idea what to do next." Momoko nodded. "If it helps, we all feel the same way." Not felt, feel.

"Feel?" Raven said, picking up on the lack of past tense. "You are still finding your way now?" No, Raven, that quest never really ended.

"Mmm. I even think I've made a wrong turn." She gave Raven a wry grin. "So don't worry too much? Especially about taking your time or if you're afraid of messing up."

"I know where I am to go in a year," Raven said, glancing Karla's way briefly. "To Glacia to serve on Karla's Court. It is just the time between now and then that I am uncertain."

"That's all?" Momoko reached to hug Raven again. "Totally easy! You just have to decide if you want to do something for fun, something train-y for Glacia, or a little of both! I am totally jealous."

"I have been considering attending classes at a university for the year," Raven said, hugging back. "Perhaps even at Dinah's school. I am somewhat apprehensive about going somewhere that I do not know anyone."

"Ah! Awesome! It's a nice school! Very fun! You totally should! You can take classes that are fun and ones that can help later!" Momoko was excited now, sorry. "Just don't let Dinah drag you out on a case. Her villains are totally weird."

"If she has need of my assistance I could not refuse," Raven said. "But I do not think the villains of her world could be any more strange than in mine."

The Brotherhood of Evil, for instance, which include a walking talking pile of lava, a voodoo priest, a gorilla, and a disembodied brain.

"They fight with henchmen and talk in riddles that make no sense and think wearing a green bowler hat when you're wearing purple is cool." Momoko shook her head. "Totally weird. And I live in a town with a green monkey!" Who... wore purple... wait...

"They are dangerous, but you totally don't realize it because they're so weird!"

"I wish that I had a picture of the people who attacked me in my own Gotham," Raven said. "I was almost blind to the danger they represented because what they were wearing made me want to laugh." She attempted to mime Phobia's huge disco collar. Nightwing would've been jealous.
