Dite's Suite, Arms Hotel, Monday Afternoon

Anytime there was an overnight trip to the island these days, it was traditional for people who'd been given a key stayed over in Dite's Suite. During reunion weekend, there were several such people--and all their friends--but while that meant that sleeping quarters were a bit cramped, it reminded Karla of the giant slumber parties she used to throw in the dorms, roughly a million years ago. And it was good to be able to look around and see so many people she loved in one place.

Other than her meeting with Ino later, Karla had no plans for the day. She'd probably go out and make one last round of the island, though she was loathe to disturb Kayla from where she was playing quietly in her playpen. Hmm, maybe she could just see how many people she could get to visit the room instead. The Arms had excellent room service, after all, and food plus friends equaled a party.

[For anyone who thinks they stayed in Dite's Suite and anyone else who is inclined to visit and/or thinks they'd get an invite from Karla. Soo...basically anybody, good job me. SP is loved and late pings welcomed! I DON'T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE TO ANYONE YET]

"I see where I rate!" Karla said with a laugh, waving them both in. "Hurtful, Roy, so hurtful. And after all we shared together!"

"Well, Lian hasn't met you yet, Karla," Roy reasoned teasingly. "And you know you'll always be--well, no, Lian is my best girl. But top ten at least."

"I'll take it," Karla said, laughing. "And I know how difficult it is to win the top spot in the hearts of fickle little ones. Mama's her favorite at least until Daddy walks into the room, or someone comes by with a toy or a snack or something that little hands shouldn't have at all..."

Karla grinned and waved at Lian. "Hello, sweetheart," she said. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Lian eyed Karla with baby suspicion. Roy bounced her a little on his hip and said, "Lian, this is Karla. She went to school with Daddy and comes from Crazy Town. She's our friend. Karla, meet Lian Harper."

"Canary?" Lian asked hopefully. She was blonde, okay, and there were apparently two Dinahs now, so to an eighteen-month-old it was a reasonable conclusion.

"No, she's not a Canary, but she's really nice."

"I'm not as loud," Karla said, so that Dinah could overhear. "But you know what? I'm still fun."

She created several brightly colored witchlights and floated them over to Lian, like overlarge bubbled that glowed and danced around the little girl's head.

"Kayla loves playing with those," she said, just as a little voice yelled, "MAMA!"

Someone was getting a lot of mileage out of that word this weekend.

Lian stared at the lights with huge eyes, and Roy laughed. "The way to your heart is through shiny objects, huh, baby?"

Karla went over to pick up Kayla, creating a few witchlights for her to play with, too. Because Darkness forbid Kayla not get one of her very own.

Spoiled child.

"Roy, Lian, this is Kayla," she said, bringing her daughter back to the couch. She was a few months younger than Lian, but looked at them both with bright, interested eyes. "Say hello, Kayla," Karla prodded. Kayla flapped a hand, the other holding tightly to her little green witchlight.

Dinah wandered over, because babieeeez! "Hi Lian, hi hi," she sang out, then laughed at Kayla's wave hello. "Hey, Roy."
