Because of the time-shift in Kaeleer, the portal the would bring them back to school for seven in the morning, Fandom time, wouldn't actually arrive to get them until around two in the afternoon, Kaeleer time. Which meant that there was still one more day to wander the Hall and plenty of time to say good-bye.

"Make those movements cleaner," Lucivar barked. "Put your whole body into that swing, not just your arms."

If Lucivar could read her inner narrative, he'd be very pleased.

Without even thinking about it, Savannah automatically followed the orders that Lucivar was calling out to her. She was happy to find that when she did that, the strikes would go a lot better for her.

Gods, how she wished she had met Lucivar before the baby godzilla had attacked her. Perhaps Karla wouldn't have needed to heal her up quite so much.

She was definitely getting a staff when she got home... or maybe they'd have time for her to buy one here...

This was definitely going to be added to her work out routines.

"Better," Lucivar said. One didn't stint on deserved praise in teaching, he'd found. "Once you're done with your set, you're going to do them again--but faster. And keeping in mind all the things we went over."

One didn't stint on practice or orders, either.

Savannah did as he said, but really hoped that she wouldn't be doing this until the portal showed up to take them home. She'd be really annoyed if she missed out on the chance to say goodbye to Jaenelle.

She focused on what she was doing with the stick, doing her best to go faster when she started a new set.

The next person that attacked her was in for a surprise.

She didn't have to worry about that, at least. Lucivar had plans for later that involved ale, meat pies, and no females for a little while.

Not that he was going to tell Savannah that. He was perfectly content to let her think he would keep her out here until she got everything perfect. It made for greater diligence.

"Back straight! Elbows in!"

It also made for females wanting to hit men about the sensitive places with sticks. Not that Lucivar was on that list as of yet. She might be imagining what she could to do a Nast the next time one attacked her and she couldn't use her magic against them.

She was very determined to learn the routine that Lucivar had taught her until she could do it in her sleep. Or if not in her sleep, at least enough that with drills the moves would come more as natural instinct.

She'd ask Karla about sending Lucivar cookies or something for all of this.

Which would have Karla hiding her head under her pillow and begging Savannah not to encourage him. Because that was all they needed, really.

Lucivar watched her, eyes narrowed. And then decided it was time to shake things up a bit. She had found the rhythm and that was good, but she couldn't let herself get drawn into it. Each motion needed to be complete on it's own, and not part of a set.

"Now backwards!"

Savannah might have muttered something very unflattering in Latin when he told her to do it backwards. Damn it, she had just started finding herself in a comfortable rhythm with the moved.

Letting out a breath, she nodded, and started trying to go through the entire drill backwards. She would get this down. She would.

If they had more time, Jaenelle would be able to teach her Eyrien ones, for when he demanded she do every other move instead. An effective teaching strategy, if a frustrating one.

"I'm assuming that was a 'Yes, Lucivar,'" he said with a grin.

Oh the look that flashed in her blue eyes said that she was probably lucky that he didn't know the Latin she was muttering, because it wasn't a happy look.

She nodded, her jaw tight as he eyes still flashed at him. "Yes. Lucivar." She bit out.

Damn if he didn't remind her of Clayton.

She would love to have had the chance to learn some Eyrien words. She loved languages.

Heh. Riling female tempers was like a game. He won if he got hit.

...Lucivar was a special boy.

"Then get to it," he said. Smiling.

Savannah would never hit a member of Karla's family -- even if she felt Lucivar was asking for it. She just never would. ~~Relatives were an entirely different story and she would turn Karla loose on her relatives in a heartbeat.~~

She glared at him and growled a little through her teeth as she started the routine.

Backwards.

Bastard.

"Prick is the common term, in case you were wondering," Lucivar said merrily.

What? It was easy enough to guess what she was thinking.

"It would be rude to call a member of Karla's family a prick," she gritted out. "I will not be rude to the family of my friends."

But oh, if he were someone else, he might have ended up with a knock-back spell used on him.

She worked through the moves, translating "Prick" into as many languages as she knew in her head.

Lucivar chuckled. "Might be rude, but it's still accurate," he said casually. "You can ask those same ladies in the family."

"I am not asking Karla or Jaenelle -- who is perfectly sweet -- if it would be accurate to call their family a prick." She was moving through the routine like he had told her as she said this. "If you were one of the Pack or those damned Nasts, I would be calling you worse than that."

Well, if it were Bryce she would be trying not to get killed.
