The Estate, Sidra, Glacia, Thursday (Fandom Time)

Winsol had been going on now for several days. The family had just decamped from SaDiablo Hall in Dhemlan back home to Glacia to continue the festivities in their own home. There would be several more days of formal events, but this evening was just for family and close friends (specifically friends close enough to be family). The children were tumbling around like puppies, a mix of Earth and Kaeleeran carols were playing from floating music spheres scattered throughout the suite, fires crackled in the large hearths, and food and punch and hot spiced rum were piled high on the sideboards throughout. "Happy Winsol!" Karla said, holding up her cup in a toast.

"Happy Winsol!" the room chorused back to her.

"Maybe she finally asked for baking lessons because she wanted to be a better baker than you, but didn't want to know she didn't love your cookies more than mine?"

"Then you knew from the get-go that I was not about to buy that terrible excuse for an excuse for a minute right?"

"What do you mean, terrible?" It was perfectly accurate!

Well, except for the part about Momoko taking it as motivation.

"Do you need the dictionary definition of terrible?" Karla asked. "Because that was pretty much it in a nutshell."

"You're terrible!"

You knew Jaime was in trouble when he resorted to the retorts of a six-year-old.

Fortunately, Karla had experience now dealing with small children.

"Well, yes," she said, unperturbed. "That doesn't make me wrong, however."
